Lipscomb 83, Mercer 66
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Brian Fisk had 18 points and five rebounds to help Lipscomb beat Mercer 83-66 on Saturday.
Fisk led all scorers while Eddie Ard dropped in 11 points. Both teams struggled on offense to open the game, with Mercer (3-9, 2-4 Atlantic Sun) going nearly four minutes before Jacob Skogen dropped in a driving lay-up to cut the early Lipscomb lead to 7-2.
The Bisons (9-6, 5-2) led 50-25 by the end of the first half, bolstered by a buzzer-beating 3-pointer by Fisk.
Mercer’s Brian Pfohl scored 12 points in 19 minutes of action, and tied Lipscomb’s Shaun Durant for game rebounding honors with eight boards. Sam Dolan scored 12 points and collected five rebounds.
The Bears could get no closer than the final 17-point deficit, on a layup by Micalvin Hammonds in the waning seconds.
