CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP)—Tony Young exploded for 30 points and pulled down seven rebounds as Southern Illinois beat Bradley 67-55 Sunday.
Young was 8-of-17 from the field and made all 11 of his free throw attempts for the Salukis (11-3, 4-0 Missouri Valley Conference). He also had two assists.
Southern Illinois held a slim 27-29 lead at halftime, despite making just 1-of-9 three-point attempts. But the Salukis came out shooting after the break, outscoring their opponents 38-28 in the second half.
Randal Falker chipped in nine points and eleven rebounds for Southern Illinois.
Marcellus Sommerville and Tony Bennett both scored 11 points for Bradley (8-5, 2-3). Sommerville also had nine rebounds.
