Wright St. 69, Detroit 58
DAYTON, Ohio (AP)—DaShaun Wood scored 18 points and Scottie Wilson added 14 to lead Wright State to a 69-58 win over Detroit in the Horizon League opener for both teams Wednesday night.
A jumper by Wood put the Raiders (1-4) ahead 63-58 with 3:47 left. He added a layup and made two free throws in the final minutes to preserve the win.
Drew Burleson scored 13 points, Tyrone Scott had 11 and Jordan Pleiman scored 10 points for Wright State, which shot 24-of-49 from the field (49 percent).
Brandon Cotton led Detroit (4-4) with 13 points, and Chuck Bailey and Torvoris Baker each had 10.
The Titans shot 21-of-52 from the field (40.4 percent) and scored 13 points off nine turnovers.
Wright State led 35-32 at halftime.
