EUGENE, Ore (AP)—Ashanti Cook scored a career-high 25 points to lead Georgetown to a 71-57 victory against Oregon in the Hispanic College Fund Classic Saturday afternoon at McArthur Court.

Cook, a senior guard, also made a career-high 8-of-10 shots from the field and scored 16 of his points in the first half when he made all of his career-high four 3-point attempts.

Roy Hibbert added 16 points and Brandon Bowman 13 points for the Hoyas, who were playing the Ducks for the first time in school history.

Georgetown (3-1) survived a rough start to go into halftime with a 28-23 lead. The Hoyas trailed 12-4 seven minutes into the game after missing five of its first seven shots to go with six turnovers.

But Cook hit a 3-pointer at 11:31 to spark a 13-1 run for Georgetown, leading to a 17-13 lead with 6:31 left in the half.

The Hoyas lead grew to 35-23 when they scored the first seven points of the second half. Oregon (4-2) finally scored on a 3-pointer by Malik Hairston at the 17:02 mark.

Hairston scored 17 and Aaron Brooks added 13 points for the Ducks, who were held to 24 points below their season average.

Georgetown used its size advantage in the paint to outrebound the Ducks 37-20. The 7-foot-2, 283-pound Hibbard, who was matched up against for most of the game against 7-0, 235-pound Ray Schafer, did most of the damage with a game-high 10 rebounds.
