Georgetown 73, James Madison 66
HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP)—Roy Hibbert scored a career-high 23 points as Georgetown beat James Madison 73-66 Monday night.
Hibbert was 7-for-8 and perfect from the charity stripe. He scored the team’s first 15 points.
Ashanti Cook had 14 for Georgetown (2-0), while Jonathan Wallace added 12.
Cavell Johnson came off the bench to lead James Madison (0-1) with 14 points. David Cooper and Ray Barbosa each had 12.
The Hoyas led by 10 at halftime, but James Madison cut it to two before Darrel Owens turned it on, scoring all 10 of his points in the second half.
Neither team had an advantage on the boards, as both grabbed 30 rebounds.
Georgetown shot 47.1 percent, compared to 45 percent for James Madison.
