McNeese St. 89, Nicholls St. 69
LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP)—Kinley Sellers scored a career high 24 points to lead McNeese State to an 89-69 win over Nicholls State on Saturday.
McNeese held a 38-32 halftime lead and led from then on.
Also in double figures for McNeese were Bryce May with 14 and Ryan Price with 12.
The win was the fifth in a row for the Cowboys (12-13, 7-7 Southland Conference).
Willie Depron led Nicholls (6-20, 1-14) with 22 points, Cyril Djoukeng scored 15 and Adonis Gray added 11.
The Cowboy bench accounted for 50 of the Cowboys’ 89 points with Price and May both coming off the bench.
Sellers had 20 of his points in the second half and May scored all of his points in the second half. Ten of the Cowboys’ 11 players got into the scoring column.
Nicholls got as close as three points in the second half but that came with 10:32 left and the Cowboys scored the game’s final seven points.
McNeese held a 46-31 rebounding edge with Sellers and May with eight each.
