Delaware St. 69, North Carolina A&T 59
DOVER, Del. (AP)—Terrance Hunter scored 22-points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Delaware State to a 69-59 win over North Carolina A&T on Saturday.
Jahsha Bluntt added 17 points for Delaware State (12-3, 10-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) for his 15th consecutive game in double figures.
Steven Koger led North Carolina A&T (4-21, 3-11) with 18 points, and Sean Booker added another 14 points.
Delaware State led by as many as nine points in the first-half. At the half, the Hornets led North Carolina A&T 30-24.
North Carolina A&T scored the first five points of the second half and cut the Hornets’ lead to 30-29 with 17:18 left in the game.
Delaware State responded with a 12-3 run and led 42-32 with 11:16 left.
The Aggies used a 8-2 run to cut Delaware State’s lead to 55-54 with three minutes left. But the Hornets scored 12 of the next 16 points to take control of the game. They opened up a 67-58 lead on two free-throws by Bluntt with 34 seconds left.
