Holy Cross 73, Lehigh 53
WORCESTER, Mass. (AP)—Kevin Hamilton scored 20 points and Greg Kinsey added 11 as Holy Cross beat Lehigh 73-53 on Sunday.
Torey Thomas, in his first start since suffering a separated shoulder on Jan. 15, added eight points and 11 assists for Holy Cross (19-5, 10-1 Patriot League), which won its 11th straight game.
Jose Olivero scored 12 points for Lehigh (13-11, 7-4).
Holy Cross, which never trailed, limited Lehigh to 25 percent shooting in the first half, when it built a 36-19 halftime lead.
Lehigh rallied in the second half when Earl Nurse dunked an offensive rebound, and Olivero converted a 3-point field goal to open the scoring and cut the lead to 36-24.
The Crusaders answered with a 6-1 run, before Nick Monserez scored four points and Joe Knight added a field goal during a 9-3 run as Lehigh pulled within 45-36 with 10:24 left.
But center Nate Lufkin (10 points, 6 rebounds), who had been out of the lineup for three games with a sprained ankle, sparked an 18-5 run that also featured a pair of 3-pointers from Hamilton, the second of which gave Holy Cross a 63-41 lead with only 4:45 remaining.
