Central Michigan 88, Marshall 83
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP)—Sefton Barrett scored a career-high 27 points to lead Central Michigan to an 88-83 win over Marshall on Sunday afternoon, breaking a 17-game road losing streak.
Kevin Nelson added 24 points and freshman Giordan Watson had 15 points for the Chippewas (6-4, 1-1 Mid-American Conference) .
Central Michigan’s win spoiled career-highs from freshman Joe Miles and Mark Patton, who each had 21 points for Marshall (2-8, 0-2 Mid-American Conference).
David Anderson added 15 points and 12 rebounds and Enoch Bunch had 10 points.
Central Michigan’s offense took off in the second half, setting a season-high for points in one half with 53. Neither team led by more than five in the second half until Barrett hit two free throws with three seconds remaining to clinch the victory.
Marshall has lost seven of its last eight games.
