Lehigh 64, Towson 61

TOWSON, Md. (AP)—Jose Olivero scored 16 points and Lehigh beat Towson 64-61 on Wednesday night, snapping an eight-game road losing streak.

Joe Knight and Nick Monserez each added 11 points for the Mountain Hawks (5-6), who had lost four of five. Lehigh had not won on the road since beating Navy on Feb. 27.

Mike Green had 15 points and nine assists for Towson (3-8), which has lost seven of eight.

The Tigers, who trailed by 20 points in the first half, whittled away a 16-point second-half deficit and closed within 63-61 with 11 seconds left. Monserez missed a free throw with 10.6 seconds left, but a 3-pointer by Towson’s Trevan Jackson from the left corner at the buzzer was long.

Olivero scored 14 points and the Mountain Hawks went 7-of-10 on 3-pointers in taking a 38-23 halftime lead.

Towson, playing its first game in 11 days, missed its first eight shots from the field and 16 of its first 20.

Lehigh scored the game’s first 10 points. Jason Mgebroff put in his own miss to cap a 12-1 run that gave Lehigh a 25-5 lead.
