NEW ORLEANS (AP)—Tulane scored 17 unanswered points midway through the second half to break open a close game on the way to a 73-54 victory over North Carolina A&T Tuesday night.
Tulane (4-4) ran away from North Carolina A&T (1-10) in the second half, outscoring the Aggies, 39-24.
Quincy Davis connected on 9-of-12 shots as he posted his second double-double of the season with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Vytas Tatarunas posted his first double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds while Marcus Kinzer tallied 14 points. Taylor Rochestie added 11 points as well as six assists.
After Tulane took a 38-31 lead on a Davis alley-oop dunk with 18:27 remaining, North Carolina A&T rallied with a 9-0 run to take a 40-38 lead at the 14:55 mark.
A Steven Kroger jumper for North Carolina A&T offset a layup by Tatarunas, then the Wave came to life with a crucial rally, running off its 17 unanswered points, eight of those by Davis, to take a 57-42 lead with 8:08 to go.
Sean Booker led North Carolina A&T with 19 points.
