LINCOLN, Neb. (AP)—Joe McCray hit six 3-point field goals during Nebraska’s 35-10 second half run that put away North Carolina A&T 71-49 Saturday.
North Carolina A&T (1-9), which had trailed by as many as 13 in the first half, tied Nebraska (4-3) at 28 on Sean Booker’s 3-pointer with 19:02 left in the game.
Nebraska’s Jason Dourisseau put the Cornhuskers back on top 14 seconds later. Then McCray heated up from long distance, scoring nearly half the points in the run that saw Nebraska take a 63-38 lead on his 3-pointer with 7:59 left.
Nebraska’s defense held the Aggies to 36 percent shooting from the field, blocked six shots and forced 19 turnovers than led to 22 Husker points.
McCray scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Nebraska. Marcus Neal Jr. added 13 for the Huskers.
Booker led the Aggies with 18 points.
