North Carolina A&T 77, High Point 68
GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP)—Sean Booker powered North Carolina A&T to a 77-68 win Tuesday night against cross-county rival High Point, scoring 29 points and pulling down nine rebounds.
On the other side of the court, Danny Gathings carried High Point (1-4) with 21 points and 14 boards while hitting 10-of-14 shots from the floor. The rest of the Panthers made just 12 of 35 attempts and 1 of 13 from 3-point range.
The Aggies (1-4) started slowly, connecting on just 34 percent of their shot attempts in the first half and trailing 35-33 at the break. They improved to 43 percent in the second half, while going 6-for-12 from behind the 3-point line.
Only Booker reached double figures for N.C. A&T. Rechodd Carter and Greg Roberts had 9 points each.
Jerry Echenique had 10 points for the Panthers.
