Wright St. 74, Toledo 64
DAYTON, Ohio (AP)—DaShaun Wood had 25 points, eight assists and five rebounds to lead Wright State to a 74-64 win over Toledo on Saturday.
Zach Williams added 19 points and seven rebounds for the Raiders (3-1). Spencer Everett had 10 points and eight rebounds and Zakee Boyd also scored 10.
Valencia Florentino led the Rockets (0-2) with 17 points, Justin Ingram had 14 and Anton Currie added 11.
Ingram was the only Toledo starter to reach double figures. They were outscored 63-26 by Wright State’s starting five.
Wright State made 26 of 36 free throws while Toledo went 5-for-10 at the line.
Florentino made two jumpers and a layup and Currie hit two 3-pointers in the first six minutes of the second half as Toledo cut a 39-31 halftime deficit to 45-43.
Wright State answered with a 7-0 run, with Wood making four free throws and Boyd hitting a 3 to push the lead to 52-43 with 13:34 remaining.
The Raiders pushed their lead to as many as 13 points after that and the Rockets got no closer than five.
