Princeton 40, Lafayette 38
EASTON, Pa. (AP)—Noah Savage scored 13 points to lead Princeton over Lafayette 40-38 on Saturday.
Judson Wallace added 13 points for the Tigers (2-2), who came back from an 18-17 halftime deficit that was sparked by Lafayette’s 47 percent shooting in the period.
The Leopards (1-2) pulled to within 39-38 with 36 seconds to go in the game after Jamaal Douglas sunk a pair of free throws for 2 of his 8 points. Princeton got the ball to Scott Greenman, who was fouled and made one of two to go up 40-38 with 33 seconds remaining.
Lafayette ran the clock down to 12 seconds before Marcus Harley attempted a running 10-footer that hit the rim. Harley grabbed his team-high sixth rebound and put up a 6-foot jumper that missed as time ran out.
Douglas and Andrei Capusan led Lafayette with 8 points each.
