CS Northridge 86, Jackson State 63

LAS VEGAS (AP)—Joseph Frazier scored 19 points and grabbed six rebounds Saturday to lead Cal State Northridge past Jackson State 86-63 in the seventh-place game at the Las Vegas Holiday Invitational.

Frazier was 7-of-12 from the field and had four assists. Also for the Matadors (1-3), sophomore forward Austin Waggener had his first career double-double, with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Bakari Altheimer added 12 points, while Sal Vance contributed 10 points.

For the Tigers (0-5), Charlie Whited led with 17 points, including going 5-of-6 from the free-throw line. Taylor Rocker added nine points for Jackson State.

The Matadors shot 31-of-58 from the field for 53.4 percent, while Jackson State was 24-of-62 for 38.7 percent. The Tigers were held to six assists in the game, and were out-rebounded 44-32.

Cal State Northridge never trailed in the game and jumped to a 30-11 with 9:54 left in the first half. The Tigers cut the lead to 10 twice in the half, the last at 41-31 at intermission. Cal State Northridge’s largest lead of the game, 82-55, came with 2:02 left in the game. In the tournament, the Matadors finished 1-3, while the Tigers were 0-4.
