Boston College 84, New Hampshire 62
BOSTON (AP)—Jared Dudley scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Tuesday night, leading Boston College to an 84-62 win over New Hampshire.
Jermaine Watson scored 16 points, Craig Smith 13 and Nate Doornekamp 10 for BC (2-0). Doornekamp also had 10 rebounds.
Mike Christensen and Chris Vetrano each had 16 points to lead New Hampshire (2-1).
The Eagles, who led 38-31 at the half, broke the game open by outscoring UNH 28-7 in the opening 9:05 of the second half. During the spree, Louis Hinnant had three consecutive 3-point plays, the first two on 3-point shots, in a 50-second span as BC scored the first 11 points after intermission.
After the Wildcats outscored BC 7-2, the Eagles went on a 15-0 run over the next 4:15. Watson scored six straight points in the middle of the run.
BC’s biggest lead of the game was 66-38 on Hinnant’s fastbreak layup with 10:55 to play.
