Holy Cross 58, Boston University 48
BOSTON (AP)—Kevin Hamilton scored 13 of his 17 points in the second half and Keith Simmons added 13 points to lead visiting Holy Cross over Boston University 58-48 Saturday in the season opener for both teams.
Holy Cross rallied from an 11-point second half deficit to pick up its first road win over Boston University since 1995.
The Crusaders fell behind 35-24, but responded with a 23-4 run to take an eight-point lead with 7:10 left. Hamilton scored nine points and Simmons added seven points during the stretch, and each buried a pair of 3-pointers in a three minute span to help give Holy Cross its biggest lead, 48-39.
The Terriers pulled as close as 50-47 with 1:41 left, but Holy Cross converted on its next two possessions to put the game out of reach.
Chaz Carr led Boston University with 15 points and Rashad Bell added 11 points and nine rebounds.
Boston University led for the first 16:38, and after falling behind 22-20 went on a 15-2 run for its only double-digit lead.
The Terriers shot 5-for-9 from 3-point range in the first half and led 25-22 at the break.
