Towson 69, Norfolk St. 58
TOWSON, Md.—Lawrence Hamm scored 17 points and had a game-high nine rebounds as Towson University defeated Norfolk State 69-58 Friday night.
After falling behind by an 11-4 margin in the game’s opening minutes, the Tigers (2-1) used a 19-2 run to grab a 23-13 lead with 7:19 left in the half.
Hamm, who made 6 of 11 shots from the floor, was one of four Tigers to score in double figures. Cantrell Fletcher had 17 points with five rebounds and three assists. He also had five steals as Towson forced 15 Norfolk turnovers.
Tony Murphy led Norfolk State (0-1) with 12 points, and Ryan Grier 10 points.
