Alabama State 65, Jackson State 54

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP)—Malcolm Campbell scored 21 points and Ralfeal Golden added 15 to lead Alabama State to a 65-54 victory over Jackson State on Saturday night.

Campbell made three 3-pointers and was perfect in his four free throw attempts. Golden completed 6-of-7 free throws for the for the Hornets (13-14, 11-7 Southwestern Athletic Conference), who hit 22-of-29 as a team.

Kelly Ross led the Tigers (11-16, 9-9) with 16 points and Ishmael Joyce added 12.

The Tigers led 32-30 at halftime, but let Alabama State outscore them 35-22 in the second half.

The Hornets outrebounded Jackson State 34-20, but were held to 40 percent shooting. The Tigers hit 60 percent shooting in the opening half, but fell to 44 percent overall.
