Alabama A&M 86, Alcorn St. 72

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP)—Obie Trotter led Alabama A&M with 27 points and Terry Horton added 20 to hoist the Bulldogs to a 86-72 win over Alcorn State Monday night.

Otis Walker and Andre Matthews rounded out the double digit scoring for Alabama A&M (10-13, 8-6 Southwestern Athletic Conference), with each scoring 13 points.

Alcorn State (8-16, 7-8 SWAC) ended the first half down 48-26. The Braves came back strong, shooting 51.6 percent from the floor outscore the Bulldogs 46-38 in the second, but it wasn’t enough.

Trey Johnson led the Braves with 26 points, followed by Dion Callans with 16. Callans had 11 rebounds and four assists in the game.
