Manhattan 79, Siena 62
NEW YORK (AP)—Luis Flores scored 25 points and Peter Mulligan added 20 as Manhattan beat Siena 79-62 on Sunday to clinch the No. 1 seed in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament.
Dave Holmes had 17 points and nine rebounds for the Jaspers (19-4, 14-1), who won their sixth straight.
Michael Haddix had 20 points for the Saints (9-15, 6-9), while Antoine Jordan added 14 and Tommy Mitchell 13.
Manhattan shot 44 percent from the field and was 30-of-32 from the free throw line. Siena shot just 36.1 percent from the field and 16-of-22 at the line.
Flores had 15 points and Mulligan added 10 as Manhattan took a 42-25 halftime lead.
Haddix scored to cut the deficit to 52-38 with 10:32 left, but the Saints came no closer.
The Jaspers responded with a 7-0 run, capped by Holmes’ three-point play that made it 59-38 with 8:50 remaining.
