N.C.-Wilmington 64, Towson 51

WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP)—Taylor Lay scored a career high 21 points to lead North Carolina-Wilmington to a 64-51 win over Towson on Wednesday night.

Lay became only the second player this season to reach the 20-point mark for the Seahawks, hitting 7-of-11 shots, including 5-of-7 from 3-point range. Joel Justus added 13 points for the Seahawks (11-11, 7-7, Colonial Athletic Association).

The Seahawks rebounded from icy 25.9 percent shooting in the first half to 69.6 percent in the second period.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak for N.C.-Wilmington.

The Tigers (6-16 and 3-10) dropped their seventh straight.

Jamaal Gilchrist paced the Tigers with 16 points and Lawrence Hamm had 10 and five rebounds.

N.C.-Wilmington broke open what had been a close game with a 13-0 run late in the second half to nail down the win.
