Austin Peay 84, Jacksonville St. 72
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Adrian Henning scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead hot-shooting Austin Peay to a 84-72 victory over Jacksonville State on Thursday night.
The Governors (13-7, 10-0 Ohio Valley Conference) remained unbeaten in conference play by shooting 64 percent from the field (31-of-48). Austin Peay jumped out to a 23-11 lead just six minutes into the game and was never threatened the rest of the way.
The Gamecocks (11-10, 4-6) never got within 10 points after the first five minutes and trailed 49-30 at halftime.
Abdou Diame led Jacksonville State with 15 points, while Scott Watson added 12 and Josh Perry 11. James Denson had six rebounds.
Anthony Davis scored 13 points for Austin Peay, which upped its lead to as much as 23 points in the second half. The Governors shot 70 percent from the field in the second half.
The Gamecocks shot just 5-of-23 from 3-point range.
