GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP)—Darryl Hudson scored 16 points and reserve Derek Mitchell made a 3-pointer with 1.2 seconds left to provide the difference for Howard in a 61-60 victory over North Carolina A&T on Monday.

The Aggies trailed by as many as 14 but a Steve Koger free throw gave North Carolina A&T a 54-53 lead with 2:51 left. Koger hit a jumper to make it 59-58 Aggies with nine seconds left.

Howard turned the ball over and Jeff Alvis made 1-of-2 free throws to set up Hudson’s heroics.

Seye Aluko had 14 points and eight rebounds for Howard (5-14, 3-7 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), which forced 21 Aggies turnovers. Stanley Greene also pitched in 12 points.

Sean Booker led North Carolina A&T (1-18, 1-9) with 17 points and six assists. Koger finished with 12 points and Brian Faulcon added 11.

North Carolina A&T shot 36 percent from the field and missed 16 free throws in the game.
