Missouri-Kansas City 77, Oral Roberts 71
TULSA, Okla. (AP)—Michael Watson scored 27 points to lead Missouri-Kansas City to a 77-71 victory over Oral Roberts in a Mid-Continent Conference game on Saturday.
Watson scored 14 points in the second half, as UMKC (10-10, 5-4 Mid-Con) overcame a seven-point lead by the Golden Eagles seven minutes into the half.
The game was tied at 61-61 until Brandon Temple hit a 3-pointer with 3:14 remaining. ORU scored 10 more points but ran out of time.
The Golden Eagles (13-7, 6-3) were led by Ken Tutt with a game-high 28 points, while Caleb Green had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Green, averaging 20.8 points coming into the game, scored just four points and played just 10 minutes in the second half due to foul trouble.
“We didn’t play with the toughness or intensity that we’ve played with all year,” ORU coach Scott Sutton said of his team.
