MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP)—Malcolm Campbell scored 21 points and Alexander Oliver added 14 to lead Alabama State to a 69-51 victory over Texas Southern Saturday night.

Campbell hit 7 of 13 from the field and was 5-of-7 from 3-point range, while Oliver completed 5 of 6 free throws for the Hornets (4-12, 2-5 Southwestern Athletic Conference).

Damien Smith led the Tigers (9-8, 5-2) with 13 points and Sean Walker added 10.

The Hornets held the Texas Southern to 29 percent shooting in the first half, 47 percent in the second. Alabama State hit 61 percent of its shots in the second half for 53.5 percent shooting overall.

The Hornets also dominated the boards 28-23.
