Old Dominion 70, Towson 49
TOWSON, Md. (AP)—Alex Loughton scored 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as Old Dominion beat Towson 70-49 on Saturday.
Old Dominion (10-6, 5-2 Colonial Athletic Association) rallied from a nine-point first half deficit to end a two-game losing streak.
The Monarchs trailed for most of the first half as Towson opened up a 12-4 lead in the first five minutes, hitting five of its first six shots from the floor.
The Tigers (6-11, 3-5, CAA) extended their lead to 19-10 with 11:24 left in the half before Old Dominion rallied.
Trailing by 25-18 with 7:38 left in the half, Old Dominon held the Tigers scoreless the rest of the way. Led by John Waller, the Monarchs closed out the half with a 12-0 run and led by 30-25 at halftime. Old Dominion never trailed again.
The Monarchs used an 8-0 run early in the second half to grab a 47-33 lead with 14:40 left in the game. The Monarchs continued to build on their lead and led by as many as 24 points in the final minutes.
