SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP)—Jermaine Blackburn scored 14 points to help Boise State beat San Jose State 70-54 on Thursday night.

Aaron Haynes scored 12 points and Eric Lane added 11 as the Broncos (11-5, 3-3 WAC) won their second straight after a three-game losing streak. Seven different Broncos made a 3-pointer and Boise State was 11-of-20 overall from long range.

Eric Walton scored 15 points to pace the Spartans (5-11, 0-6), who lost their eighth straight. Marquin Chandler added a season-high 13 points and Michael McFadden had 12. San Jose State made just one 3-pointer in 10 attempts.

Boise State, last in the WAC in scoring defense, allowed its fewest points of the season.

Former NBA coach George Karl attended the game to watch his son, freshman guard Coby Karl, play for Boise State.

Boise State used a flurry of 3-pointers to turn a close game into a double-digit lead late in the first half—and then their lead throughout the second half, crafting a 63-42 advantage midway through the period before the Spartans rallied.
