Ball St. 76, Bowling Green 63
MUNCIE, Ind. (AP)—Cameron Echols and Peyton Stovall scored 13 points apiece as Ball State put the game out of reach early in the second half to beat Bowling Green 76-63 on Wednesday night.
The Cardinals (4-6, 1-1 Mid-American Conference) allowed Bowling Green to close to within 41-33 early in the second half, but responded with a 19-6 run to take a 60-39 lead with 10:39 remaining. The Falcons (5-8, 1-2) never got closer than 13 points behind the rest of the way.
Ball State, which outscored Bowling Green 27-9 at the free-throw line and 15-12 from 3-point range, got 11 points apiece from Macc McCollom and Terrance Chapman and 10 points from Robert Owens.
Ron Lewis led Bowling Green with 17 points and six rebounds and Kevin Natter had 16 points and five boards. Steven Wright finished with four points, six rebounds and four assists.
Bowling Green scored the game’s first four points but allowed Ball State to move ahead with a 27-10 scoring run midway through the first half. Ball State led 31-24 at the half.
