KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP)—Freshman Caleb Green scored a career-high 33 points and tied his career high with 13 rebounds to lead Oral Roberts to a 91-71 victory over Missouri-Kansas City Saturday night.

It was Green’s sixth double-double of the season. Josh Atkinson made five 3-pointers and finished with 20 points for the Golden Eagles, and Ken Tutt, another freshman, contributed 19 points.

Jonathan Bluitt, who missed the previous game with a sprained ankle, doled out a career-best 13 assists, two shy of the Oral Roberts record.

UMKC (4-7, 0-1), which was coming off a 41-point rout Tuesday of Kansas State, trailed by as many as 24 points in the Mid-Continent Conference opener for both teams.

Oral Roberts (8-4, 1-0) led 65-43 with 12:30 to play, but UMKC scored 11 unanswered points to cut the lead to 11 points with 8:06 left. That was as close as the Kangaroos could get.

Mike English led UMKC with 19 points and seven rebounds. Michael Watson, the conference’s leading scorer with a 23.3-point average, finished with just 13 points, missing 15-of-20 shots.

UMKC led 14-12 with 12:17 left in first half on a 3-pointer by Brandon Temple.

Oral Roberts, which has won four straight and seven of its last nine, seized the lead for good at 15-14 on an Atkinson 3-pointer. The Golden Eagles connected on 19-of-27 field goal attempts in the first half, a 70.4 percent clip, and led 46-34 at halftime. For the game, Oral Roberts shot a season-high 66 percent from the floor.
