Manhattan 65, Hofstra 58
NEW YORK (AP)—Luis Flores scored 19 points, including two 3-pointers in a late second-half run that propelled Manhattan past Hofstra 65-58 Wednesday night.
Dave Holmes, who made all 12 of his free throws, led the Jaspers (6-3) with 22 points and 13 rebounds.
Kenny Adeleke had 19 points and 13 rebounds, and Loren Stokes added 15 points for the visiting Pride (4-6).
Holmes scored 14 points in leading Manhattan to a 34-31 halftime lead.
Two 3-pointers by Carlos Rivera, who had 11 points, sparked a second-half spurt that boosted Hofstra to a 53-45 lead with 7:25 remaining.
A pair of 3-pointers by Flores keyed a 15-3 run that lifted the Jaspers to a 60-56 lead with 2:57 to go.
Adeleke scored with 2:04 left to cut the deficit to 60-58, but the Pride got no closer.
Manhattan helped clinch the victory by converting nine of 10 free throws down the stretch.
