Wichita State 74, Manhattan 57

NEW YORK (AP)—Randy Burns scored 24 points and Wichita State pulled away from Manhattan 74-57 Tuesday night.

Paul Miller added 12 points and Jamar Howard 11 for the Shockers (4-1).

Luis Flores led the Jaspers with 25 points. He shot just 8-for-22, including 1-for-9 on 3-pointers. He was only player for Manhattan (2-1) to score in double figures.

Wichita State led 37-33 at halftime before breaking loose. Manhattan missed all 11 of its 3-point shots in the second half and finished 2-for-20 from behind the arc.

Rob Kampman, picked Monday as the player of the week in the Missouri Valley Conference, was held to two points in 24 minutes for Wichita State.
