Manhattan 90, Fordham 77
NEW YORK (AP)—Dave Holmes scored 22 points, Luis Flores added 20 and every Manhattan starter reached double figures in the Jaspers’ 90-77 victory over Fordham on Saturday night.
Manhattan (2-0) used a 12-3 surge to open a 19-10 advantage midway though the opening half and went on to a 42-29 margin at the break. Reserve guard Kenny Minor capped the run by scoring six of the last eight points, first connecting from beyond the arc and then turning a layup into a three-point play to make it 19-10.
The Jaspers continued to pull away by rattling off the first eight points of the second half. That surge, capped by a steal and layup by Jason Wingate, made it 50-29.
Wingate finished with 14 points, Mike Konovelchick had 16 and Peter Mulligan 10.
John Blackgrove topped Fordham (0-3) with a career-high 27 points.
Manhattan was 28-of-30 from the foul line.
