CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP)—Brendan Plavich scored 18 points to lead Charlotte to a 102-39 rout over North Carolina A&T Monday night.

Plavich made six of nine shots from 3-point range as the 49ers (1-1) bounced back from their season-opening loss to George Washington.

Calvin Clemons added 12 points and Curtis Withers had 10 points and 13 rebounds for Charlotte, who had five players finish in double figures.

Martin Iti, Charlotte’s 7-foot freshman, had a dunk and two blocked shots within a one-minute span in the first half. He finished with 10 points, four rebounds and six blocks.

The 49ers started the game with a 20-2 run. Substituting early and often, 10 49ers scored within the first 15 minutes of the game.

By halftime, the score was a lopsided 51-18.

Chris Ferguson led North Carolina A&T (0-2) with 14 points. The Aggies shot 21 percent from the field.

The 49ers shot 54 percent and out-rebounded the Aggies 57-40.

The win marked Charlotte’s 600th for the men’s basketball program.
