Richmond 75, LaSalle 62
RICHMOND, Va. (AP)—Mike Skrocki and Tony Dobbins each scored four points during a 14-4 Richmond run late in the second half Saturday as the Spiders beat LaSalle 75-62.
Skrocki started the Spiders’ run with two free throws after the Explorers’ Mike Cleaves tied the score at 50 on a 3-pointer with 8:15 remaining. A 3-pointer by Jeff Myers, a layup and two free throws by Dobbins, a layup by Skrocki and a three-point play by Eric Zwayer gave the Spiders (15-12, 10-6 Atlantic 10) a 64-54 lead with 2:53 remaining. LaSalle (11-16, 6-10) could get no closer than seven.
There were six ties and eight lead changes in the first half, which ended with the Spiders leading 26-23.
Jamaal Scott led Richmond with 22 points. Skrocki had 12, Dobbins 11 and Patrick O’Malley 11.
Gary Neal led the Explorers with 21 points.
