Saint Louis 76, Tulane 74 2 OT
ST. LOUIS (AP)—Marque Perry hit three free throws and a jumper in the second overtime to lead Saint Louis to a 76-74 Conference USA victory over Tulane on Saturday afternoon.
Perry, who scored only 4 points in the first half, led all scorers with 27 points. Chris Sloan and Josh Fisher each added 13 points for Saint Louis (13-12, 7-7).
Brandon Brown led Tulane (14-13 7-7) with 26 points. Waitari Marsh added 17 and Brandon Spann 16.
The Green Wave scored the first five points in the second overtime for a 72-67 lead, but Perry made a basket and Sloan made a 3-pointer. Perry then made three free throws for a 75-72 lead.
Tulane had a chance to tie it again when Spann was fouled on a 3-point shot but he made just only two free throws.
Perry made a 3-pointer with 6.6 seconds left in the first overtime to tie it at 67. The game was tied at 59 at the end of regulation after the Billikens fought back from an 11-point second-half deficit.
After Tulane led 44-33 with about 12 minutes left, a 14-4 Saint Louis run cut the lead to 48-47.
Perry hit two free throws with 5:21 left, giving the Billikens its first lead at 49-47. It lasted only 34 seconds, as the Green Wave spurted to a 56-50 lead with 3:46 left.
Saint Louis rallied with an 8-0 run to lead 58-56 with 1:44 remaining. Two free throws by Marsh tied it a 58.
A free throw by each team made it 59-59. Perry missed a shot late and the game went into overtime.
The Green Wave led 33-24 at halftime.
