MUNCIE, Ind. (AP)—Chris Williams scored 25 points and Robert Owens added 20 points and 12 rebounds as Ball State beat Bowling Green 94-73 Wednesday night.
Williams made four 3-pointers without a miss in a 2 1/2 minute span after the Falcons’ (10-14, 6-9 Mid-American Conference) Cory Eyink hit two free throws to close the gap to 26-22 with 5:46 remaining.
Williams’ fourth 3-pointer raised Ball State’s (13-13, 8-7 MAC) lead to 16 points, and he hit four more foul shots to expand the lead to 21 points with 1:36 remaining. He scored 18 in the first half.
Ron Lewis and Ryan Cory scored 12 as the Falcons made a 14-7 run with 3:20 remaining. Lewis finished with 29 points, making 16-of-17 foul shots.
The teams committed a combined 50 fouls and Bowling Green made 32-of-38 free throws while Ball State made 23-of-30 from the line. Ball State shot 56 percent in the first half and limited the Falcons to 29 percent.
Cameron Echols and Matt McCollom each scored 13 points for Ball State.
