Bradley 86, Wichita St 77
WICHITA, Kan. (AP)—Phillip Gilbert scored 31 points to lead Bradley past Wichita State 86-77 Tuesday night, snapping the Shockers four-game winning streak.
Leading 40-31 at halftime, Bradley (11-16, 7-9 Missouri Valley) went on a 16-5 run to open the second half, taking a 56-36 lead with 15 minutes remaining. Wichita State (16-9, 11-5) rallied, but the Shockers would not get any closer than nine points.
Gilbert scored 20 in the first half and finished the game 5-of-10 from 3-point range. Mike Suggs added 17 points for Bradley, including 15 in the second half, and grabbed 10 rebounds, and James Gillingham had 16 points.
Jamar Howard led Wichita State with 19 points. Randy Burns had 15 and Aaron Hogg scored 11 for the Shockers.
