Northern Iowa 84, Bradley 80
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP)—Matt Schneiderman had 24 points and 10 rebounds to lead Northern Iowa to an 84-80 victory over Bradley Wednesday night.
Chris Foster had 21 points and David Gruber 15 for the Panthers (8-15, 5-10 Missouri Valley).
Phillip Gilbert had 24 points for Bradley (10-15, 6-8), while James Gillingham had 19.
Northern Iowa took a 10-0 lead as Gruber hit two jumpers and Schneiderman a 3-pointer to start the game. The Panthers led by as many as 20 points as they took a 41-26 halftime lead.
Gilbert scored 15 of his points in the second half as the Braves started cutting the lead with just over 15 minutes remaining. The lead was cut to a point, 81-80, on a Gilbert jumper with 21 seconds left. Two free throws by Gruber and one by Ben Jacobson pulled Northern Iowa to an 84-80 lead. Gilbert missed a 3-point attempt at the buzzer.
