La Salle 74, Fordham 61
PHILADELPHIA (AP)—Gary Neal scored a game-high 25 points and was 11-of-12 from the free throw line to lead La Salle to a 74-61 win over Fordham on Wednesday night.
Steven Smith added 14 points and a game-high 14 rebounds for La Salle (9-10, 3-5 Atlantic 10), which used a 12-1 run in the second half and led by as many as 14 to end a three-game losing streak.
Dzaflo Larkai scored 12 points and Jermaine Thomas added 11 for La Salle.
Mark Jarrell-Wright had 16 points to lead Fordham (2-18, 1-8), which shot 8-of-31 from 3-point range and 9-of-18 from the free throw line in losing its eighth straight game.
Michael Haynes scored 12 points and Glenn Batemon added 10 points for the Rams.
Smith scored on an alley-oop with 10 seconds remaining in the first half to give La Salle a 30-23 halftime lead. The Explorers closed out the first half on a 7-0 run. Fordham did not score a single point in the final 9:11 of the first half.
