Dayton 75, La Salle 70
PHILADELPHIA (AP)—Brooks Hall and Ramod Marshall each had 17 points as Dayton notched its eighth straight win and stayed undefeated in the Atlantic 10 with a 75-70 victory over La Salle on Saturday.
Nate Green added 11 points for Dayton (15-3, 7-0 A10), which defeated the Explorers for the seventh straight time.
Freshman guard Gary Neal matched his season high with 33 points, and Steve Smith added 14 for the Explorers (8-10, 2-5).
Dayton led 34-25 at halftime, but La Salle rallied behind Neal and moved ahead on his 3-pointer, taking a 43-42 lead with 12:31 to play.
Neither team then led by more than three points until a three-point play by Marshall gave the Flyers a 66-60 edge at the 3:17 mark.
A 3-pointer by Smith brought La Salle to within 68-65 with 2:02 to go, but Marshall made a 12-footer, and Green hit four straight free throws to secure the victory.
The Explorers had an 18-14 lead midway through the first half, but Hall scored 11 points during a 17-5 run, giving the Flyers a 31-23 edge.
Dayton has now hit a 3-point shot in 419 straight games, the ninth longest streak among active teams.
