Manhattan 86, St. Peter’s 71
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP)—Luis Flores scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Manhattan over St. Peter’s 86-71 on Saturday.
The Jaspers (12-3) won their eighth consecutive game.
Keydren Clark scored a game-high 29 points for the Peacocks (5-9).
Manhattan led 41-24 going into the second half after Flores started the team on a 15-0 run. Flores had five points in the stretch and Mike Konovelchick and Kenny Minor each nailed a 3-pointer.
Clark exploded in the second half for St. Peter’s, scoring 11 points in the first four minutes, including three 3-pointers. He cut Manhattan’s lead to 49-37 with 15:14 left in the game.
Jason Benton completed a three-point play and Minor hit a 3-pointer as Manhattan took the lead for good with 9:25 left to play.
Dave Holmes had 13 points for Manhattan, with Benton and Jared Johnson adding 12 each. Konovelchick had 10 points.
Corey Hinnant scored 11 points for St. Peter’s. Regis Devonish had 9.
