PEORIA, Ill. (AP)—James Gillingham and Phillip Gilbert each scored 24 as Bradley beat Northern Iowa 71-56 on Saturday.

Gilbert also grabbed eight rebounds for Bradley (6-10, 2-3 Missouri Valley Conference). The Braves shot 71 percent from the free-throw line.

Bradley led 29-23 at the half.

Northern Iowa (5-9, 2-4 MVC) got 13 points from David Gruber, the team’s only player to score in double figures. Ben Jacobson and Matt Bennett each chipped in eight.

After making five of six from the free-throw line in the first half, Northern Iowa missed seven of 11 free throws in the second.

Bradley nearly doubled Northern Iowa in points off turnovers, making 18 to the visitors’ 10. But Northern Iowa got more production off the bench, scoring 20 to Bradley’s nine.
