Fairfield 76, Canisius 71

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP)—Kudjo Sogadzi scored 18 points to lead Fairfield to a 76-71 win over Canisius on Tuesday night.

Sogadzi, who was 8-11 from the field, started an 11-2 run with a 3-pointer at 16:14 of the second half. After Brian Dux made a free throw for Canisius, Fairfield went on a 13-2 run, capped by a put back by Ajou Deng at 7:37, to the give the Stags a 68-50 lead. A 19-8 run by Canisius (5-9) at the end of the game was not enough to put the Golden Griffins ahead.

Deng Gai had a double double for Fairfield with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Oscar Garcia scored 13 points and Terrence Todd 10.

Brian Dux scored a game-high 25 points for Canisius, while Hodari Mallory added 18 and Richard Jones 12.

Fairfield (9-5) have won four straight, and the Golden Griffins’ dropped their seventh straight.
