HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP)—Felton Freeman had 20 points and 10 rebounds and Eddy Fobbs blocked eight shots as Sam Houston State beat Lamar on Saturday night, 61-47.

Sam Houston (4-3, 1-0 Southland) held Lamar (3-5, 0-1) to 21 percent shooting and five field goals in the first half as the Bearkats opened a 32-to-18 halftime lead.

Jonathan Burnett was the only Lamar player in double figures with 13 points, but he was just 4-of-13 from the field with four turnovers. The Cardinals’ five starters went 9-of-40 from the field, and the team shot 24 percent for the game.

Fobbs was the second-highest Sam Houston scorer with seven points, and he also grabbed 11 rebounds.
