Bowling Green 75, Oakland 68
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP)—Kevin Netter scored 17 points and had a career-high 10 rebounds to lead five players in double figures as Bowling Green defeated Oakland 75-68 Thursday night.
Jabari Mattox added 15 points, Ron Lewis 14, Cory Eyink 11 and Cory Ryan 10 for the Falcons (3-4).
Mike Helms of the Grizzlies (3-3) led all scorers with 31 points, while Rawle Marshall put in 14 and Cortney Scott had 11 rebounds.
Bowling Green outscored Oakland 12-0 via the fast break and 24-8 in the paint in building a 43-24 halftime lead. But the Grizzlies rallied in the second half and cut the lead to 69-66 on a steal and a dunk by Marshall with 1:48 left.
That was as close as Oakland could get, with the Falcons scoring the rest of their points on free throws.
