Fairfield 86, Marist 77
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP)—Dewitt Maxwell led all scorers with 25 points as Fairfield beat Marist 86-77 Tuesday evening.
Marist (3-3) led 66-59 with 8:21 left, when the Stags (3-3) scored six straight points and then tied the game at 68 with 6:28 remaining. In the final 6:28, Fairfield outscored the Red Foxes 20-9 to pull away for the win.
Maxwell shot 11-of-13 from the field and had five boards. Nick Delfico and Kudjo Sogadzi tallied 13 points apiece. Tyquawn Goode had 11 points and a team-leading six assists, while Terrence Tood tallied 10 points and five assists.
Nick Eppehimer led Marist with his third 24-point game of the season. Denis Young added 14 points for the Red Foxes, and Eric Sosler had a career-high 12 points. David Bennett tallied 10 points and six assists, while Brandon Ellerbee had six assists and three steals.
