La Salle 67, James Madison 59
HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP)—Steven Smith scored all 12 of his points in the second half and helped La Salle rebound after blowing all of an 18-point second half lead as the Explorers beat James Madison 67-59 Tuesday night.
Smith scored six consecutive points after the Dukes used a 23-4 run to take a 45-44 lead with 7:32 remaining. James Madison (1-3) got no closer than four points again.
Gary Neal led La Salle with 21 points and Jermaine Thomas had 13.
Daniel Freeman led the Dukes with 18 points and Ian Caskill added 16 points and 10 rebounds. Caskill had 11 points in the second half, including seven in the big run.
