St. John’s 81, Fairfield 68
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP)—Marcus Hatten scored 30 points as St. John’s beat Fairfield 81-68 Saturday night.
The Red Storm (2-0) shot 52 percent from the floor. Anthony Glover added 12 points and Elijah Ingram scored 10. Andre Stanley had six assists.
St. John’s forward Grady Reynolds, charged with pushing a female student against a wall in a dormitory bathroom and throwing her to the ground, had four points and two rebounds.
The junior college transfer has played in both games since being arrested on Nov. 17. St. John’s said he will remain on the team while the school investigates. Reynolds is due in court Friday.
The Stags trailed by just four points at halftime but shot only 37 percent in the second half. Michael Bell led Fairfield (0-2) with 15 points. Kudjo Sogadzi had 13 points and four assists.
